Festival Fundraising Report

Reported at January 2015 Open Meeting.

It has been another good year for fundraising activities and events.

It has been good to see even more new volunteers joining us at these events as the more people involved the easier the days run.  The weather has not been as kind to us at festivals as last year and those people who were there on the Saturday at Whaley Bridge will remember getting very wet indeed.  This was the first time for many years that one tombola lasted 2 days.  It has also been good having more support in the preparation of the goods for sale prior to the events and the range of goods and activities available has increased yet again and we now have a regular clientele at many events.

In January the boat was painted inside & outside. The toilet was refitted.
The 2014 season commenced in the last week of March. In April the Mayor was taken on his annual trip. We organised a volunteers day in May and from this I am pleased to report we signed up five new volunteers.
In June New Horizons was in attendance at the Whaley Water Weekend. Saturday was a very wet day, Sunday was just wet! We also attended the Marple carnival in June.
