Skippers Report 2014
Another busy and rewarding year!
In January the boat was painted inside & outside. The toilet was refitted.
The 2014 season commenced in the last week of March. In April the Mayor was taken on his annual trip. We organised a volunteers day in May and from this I am pleased to report we signed up five new volunteers.
In June New Horizons was in attendance at the Whaley Water Weekend. Saturday was a very wet day, Sunday was just wet! We also attended the Marple carnival in June.
Chairman of Stockport Canal Boat Trust awarded MBE in the New Years Honours List.
SCBT Chairman James Dunlop has been awarded the MBE in the 2015 New Years Honours List for services to the charity. We offer him our hearty congratulations for this well deserved award.
'Grow Your Tenner' launches 10am Tuesday, 14th October
Throughout the campaign,Localgiving.com will be matching one-time donations pound-for-pound up to £10, and monthly donations up to £10 per month for 6 months. New Horizons' Annual Open Meeting 26 January 2014
This year's meeting was held at Marple Conservative Club, adjacent to the mooring for New Horizons.
The meeting was opened at 12-30 with a summary by the Chairman, James Dunlop, of the year's activities and thanked all those who gave their time and effort thus creating an optimistic picture for the year.
