Directions and information

Parking will be available on the land currently being developed.   On arrival at Lock 16 the crew will help you unload and direct you to the parking, approximately 15 yds from the boat. 

PLEASE NOTE - The is no access from John Street. You need to come up Lockside.

From Stockport, follow the A626 Marple Road.

Once in Marple, pass Rose Hill railway station and continue until you see the Navigation Inn on the right. * Prepare to turn right to go up Lockside, narrow road alongside the canal. Lock 16 is the Top Lock. 

From the A6 at the Rising Sun pub, Hazel Grove.

Continue along the A6 towards Disley for approximately 2 miles to the beginning of High Lane Village. Turn left at the Horseshoe pub (on left) onto Windlehurst Lane (signposted Marple). Proceed over two canal bridges and past the Goyt Mill and downhill into Marple. Pass Littlewoods Butchers on the right and at the next traffic lights turn right. go straight across the next lights and then follow the instructions from * above. 

From Glossop, on A626.

Once in Marple Bridge at the traffic lights go up Brabyns Brow, past Marple Station (on right). Cross the canal bridge, past the park (on left), turn left into Hollins Lane and follow turn left at the traffic lights then follow from * above.

From the M60 at Stockport.

When travelling anti clockwise (east).
Leave at junction 27 (formerly 13 of M63), (Stockport East). Follow A626 Marple road, south. Once in Marple follow above.

When travelling clockwise (west).
Leave at junction 25, (watch out for intermediate traffic lights on slip-road!) at large roundabout (with traffic lights), follow Marple road as above.
